"Choice Filled Lives": - Nearly 900 students attend 2025 Fall Ready to Work Job Fair

Dr. Angie Lewis: We want to give our students choice filled options.

Dr. Tonia Howard-Hall: And to have those professionals here, to have those industries here. We give our students the opportunity to make those informed decisions.

Ken Slats: Decisions they'll need to make over the next several months. This Fall Ready to Work Job fair attracted nearly 900 SCCPSS students and 50 vendors.

Caden Carter: And different businesses like Chick-Fil-A, the school board, City of Savannah. We got Georgia ports, like a lot of big brands. Carpenters. Everybody's here.

Deshay Miles: I've been thinking about the Air Force, and I've also been thinking about college because I didn't want to go to college, but I'm just keeping my options open.

Alison Saldana: So we have a bunch of different job opportunities. We have different paths you can take. And one of my personal favorites was making aircrafts at Savannah Tech. And yeah, it's just a whole bunch of students from different grades and different schools coming to unite together and talk about jobs.

Ken Slats: Jobs or continuing education or military service. It's all about leading, choice-filled lives.

Dr. Tonia Howard-Hall: So for these students to be able to walk in here and meet these professionals face-to-face. They can ask questions. And now with technology, they can record the conversation to refer back on it. So I think it's a wonderful opportunity.

Destiny Edwards: Many students after high school don't have like a lot of money to pay for their tuition and it could help them as well. And they also get a chance to explore different pathways.

Deshay Miles: I liked how everyone was very professional. And they asked questions. They asked us, you know, what we wanted to do. And then whatever we told them, like what interests us, they pointed us to other tables that may be similar to what we have interest in.

Alison Saldana: It makes me think about what other opportunities that I can take and what I can do later on in life.

Ken Slats: It's preparation, leading to options, leading towards success. For SCCPSS. I'm Ken Slats.
